I first heard Wylie play in 2006 when we were both freshman in high school. Back then the band was called Simon Dawes and he had already been playing for six years.  Since then he has toured the world over.
One of the ways he passes the time on long legs of the trip is to write incomplete short stories.

Here is an Excerpt from the "Incomplete Works Of" by Wylie Gelber
Betwixt and Betwiddled
I awaken... Damp cold limestone cradles my cheek just as mum once had. As my Cornish corneas creep closer into focus, I find myself face to face with a rodent of sorts.
As I press my clammy Brush palms to the pavement and begin to push North, the smell of stale tea and kippered fish finds its way betwixt my nostrils.  My mind, foggier than old Londishtown herself on the foggiest of fog filled days...
"Water! Water!!!!!!! Some fellow! Help"
Hypnotized as I count the ethos of my tragic cries, bouncing to and fro throughout the dark halls of this damp dungeon, a flood of memories rushes down upon my mind, swifter than the current of the mighty River Thames herself. Against my better  judgement, I surrender the fight between my body and mind and go out like a light...

Sitting in a carriage sized tea cup, floating down a rapid river of flat beer and vinegar. Big Ben is crying tears of baked beans and London is burning, in all her brilliance...Wylie Gelber of Dawes in his studio wearing the Coldsmoke Schoeller 3XDRY collection the Khmasin Chore Coat and Terrain Technical Pants
I awaken again, this time peppered in perspiration.  The rodent from whence before, a mere Bobbies hat from my face.  It looks deep in my eyes.  A look of surprise painted upon its prickly pointish face.
I'm reminded of my first wide, Lady Breatherny of Brattlesbun...
